Welcome Hayley Rayson to our psychotherapy team! Hayley is a warm, empathetic, and highly skilled intern therapist currently accepting new clients for low-cost counselling in Georgetown, Milton, Mississauga, and virtually across Ontario. Hayley offers in-person therapy in Georgetown, Milton, and Mississauga, as well as virtual therapy services across Ontario. Hayley brings a deep passion for mental health, trauma-informed care, and creating safe, affirming spaces—especially for adolescents, adults, and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and couples.
A Therapist with Real-World Experience and a Deep Understanding of Complex Mental Health Needs
Before beginning her journey into psychotherapy and counselling, Hayley worked extensively with adolescents and young adults involved in the legal system, providing support in both residential and custodial settings. Her work continued in hospital and inpatient mental health settings, where she helped clients navigate complex trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, suicidality, and other pressing mental health concerns.
It was in these often high-pressure, emotionally intense environments that Hayley discovered her calling: to be a trusted support in people’s healing journeys—someone who can hold space for discomfort, exploration, and transformation with empathy and care.
Supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ Clients and Couples in Ontario
As a queer-identifying woman, Hayley brings a lived understanding and deep commitment to supporting LGBTQ2S+ individuals and couples. Her work includes helping clients navigate:
Coming out
Gender and sexual identity
Relationship challenges
Intersectional experiences
Hayley strives to create a safe, affirming, and non-judgmental therapy space, especially for those who may have felt misunderstood or marginalized elsewhere.
She understands the courage it takes to seek help, particularly when exploring vulnerable areas such as identity, relationships, coming out, gender, or sexuality. Whether you’re navigating these topics for the first time or revisiting them with new perspective, Hayley offers a therapeutic space grounded in authenticity, understanding, and care.
Education, Training, and Therapeutic Modalities
Hayley is completing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology, and a Diploma in Community and Justice Services. She is a qualifying member of the CRPO and a student member of the CCPA.
She uses an integrative, client-centered approach, including:
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness-based practices
This variety allows her to meet each client’s needs with flexibility, compassion, and evidence-based tools. Her calm presence and attentive, curious demeanour make clients feel seen, heard, and supported. Hayley works collaboratively with each client, believing that you are the expert of your own life, and that the therapeutic relationship is a vital foundation for growth.
