A Bit About Me

My path to counselling was not a straight line. When I started university, I thought I would become a veterinarian. After taking my first psychology course, I discovered a deep curiosity about the human experience and what shapes us into who we are and who we want to become. During my counselling studies, I realized I wanted to help create a space where people can feel genuinely seen and supported and less alone in what they are carrying.

Through my years of coaching gymnastics and working with children, teens, and families, I have learned the importance of meeting people where they are. I believe therapy should never be one-size-fits-all. Trust, compassion, and feeling comfortable with your therapist are an important part of meaningful therapeutic work.

I also understand that reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable or overwhelming. My goal is to meet you with warmth and compassion, while moving at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we can explore what brought you to therapy and what you hope can feel different.

I provide individual therapy, teen therapy, marriage counselling, and couples therapy in Mississauga, Georgetown, and Milton, with virtual therapy available across Ontario.

Jacqueline's Story

Jacqueline Brun is a warm, compassionate, and thoughtful Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) finishing her practice hours for the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a postgraduate certificate in addictions and mental health.

Her own experiences with moving away from home, grief, loss, and major life transitions have shaped the empathy and perspective she brings to therapy. She understands that difficult experiences can leave us feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or alone and believes there is no single right way to navigate them.

With a background in gymnastics coaching, Jacqueline has supported athletes and families through performance pressure, fear, setbacks, perfectionism, mental blocks, and confidence challenges. She has a particular interest in working with athletes who are struggling with the emotional side of performance.

Jacqueline supports teens, adults, families, and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, life transitions, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, and relationship concerns. She also works with couples experiencing disconnection, recurring conflict, or difficulty feeling heard and understood.

Her approach is holistic, Attachment-Based, Trauma-Informed, Integrative, and Person-Centred, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Somatic approaches. Jacqueline practices with cultural humility and welcomes clients from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQ2S+ individuals and couples.

Outside of work, she loves getting lost in a good book, playing board games, and spending time with family and friends. Jacqueline enjoys learning and trying new things through movement and creative projects, especially when they are simply fun and absorbing. She believes those moments of curiosity, connection, and play can be meaningful reminders that life is about more than simply getting through difficult seasons.

Jacqueline was carefully handpicked to join Anchored Therapy Centre based on her experience, clinical interests, compassionate approach, and commitment to providing thoughtful, client-centred care. As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), she practices under the ongoing clinical supervision of an experienced Registered Psychotherapist and clinical supervisor, supporting her continued professional development and ethical clinical practice.
