A Bit About Me
I believe therapy begins with feeling safe enough to be honest about what you are experiencing. My understanding of intergenerational trauma, emotional distress, and relationship conflict has deepened my compassion for people who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward.
I work with individuals, couples, and families who may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, grief, emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions. I believe every person and relationship is different, and that meaningful change starts with understanding the challenges you are facing without judgement.
My goal is to create a supportive and inclusive space where you can slow down, feel heard, and work through difficult moments with greater clarity. Whether you are seeking individual therapy in Mississauga, teen therapy in Mississauga, family therapy in Mississauga, couples counselling in Mississauga, or virtual therapy across Ontario, I want you to feel respected, understood, and supported throughout the process.
You do not have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin where you are and work toward healthier relationships, greater emotional balance, and a stronger sense of direction.
Alex's Story
Alexander Tran is a warm, compassionate Registered Psychotherapist Independent who supports individuals, teens, couples, and families through difficult emotions, relationship concerns, and life changes. His approach is grounded in understanding, compassion, and practical therapeutic tools, helping clients develop a different relationship with themselves and the people who matter to them. Alex creates a calm, engaging, and non-judgmental space where clients can feel heard, seen, and understood.
Alexander holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology, and has experience working within community mental health organizations for over 8 years. He carefully considers each client’s needs, concerns, and goals when developing the therapeutic process. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Alex uses a fluid structure that allows therapy to adapt as clients gain insight, process emotions, and identify meaningful steps forward.
As a trauma-informed therapist, Alexander takes a holistic approach to psychotherapy and recognizes how past experiences can influence emotions, relationships, communication, and patterns of behaviour. He works collaboratively with clients to develop tools they can use beyond the therapy room while creating space to explore and process emotions with purpose and direction.
Alexander uses evidence-informed approaches, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman, and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). His work supports clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, grief, emotional regulation difficulties, and relationship concerns. He also works with families and couples navigating conflict, communication difficulties, relationship challenges, and healing following experiences of aggression, as well as individuals adjusting to life transitions.
Alex is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and remains committed to continuing education and professional development so his practice continues to reflect current research in counselling and psychotherapy. He offers in-person psychotherapy at Anchored Therapy Centre’s Mississauga location, as well as virtual therapy for clients across Ontario.
Outside of therapy, Alexander enjoys spending time with friends and family, gaming, and watching movies and television shows.
Alexander believes therapy should leave clients with greater clarity, tools, and a stronger sense of direction in their lives and relationships.
